Gourmandism: Stomach or Garbage Bin?

Who doesn't love to have cold drink whilst having food especially when one is out for a treat at a roadside restaurant (Dhaba)? Well, it's most commonly swigged with relish to beat the heat now-a-days mainly to excite one's mouth, body, and mind, and to smooth a hot morsel for sensitizing its taste.

A lot of us are so much lost in gaining pleasure that we don't think of diving into the fact that by doing so we participate to be one of those who intentionally or unintentionally support this strange sign that denotes the nearing of judgement day.

Yes, indeed! Drinking of Cold Water or Cold Drinks whilst having food is peculiar to one of the many strange signs of nearing of Judgement Day.

It is reported to have been believed that Hazrat Ali (A.S.) said that people would happily serve poison to one another during the last phase of life, before Judgement Day (Qayamah). Although, the one who'd serve will know what is he serving and the one who'd drink will know what is he drinking, and this would be popularly served to show off as a great hospitality among the guests. And that poison is nothing but drinking of cold/chilled water or any other cold/chilled drinks, especially during the mealtime.

He continued, It weakens the stomach leading to gastric issue, bloating, stomach aches, digestive disorder etc. It may give taste to the tongue but not all healthy foods are tasty and not all tasty foods are healthy. It narrows the veins - gradually reduces the needed amount of gap between the veins that carries blood to the heart. It also thickens your mucus and fats.

The people of this time
would be smitten with sickness/diseases. The youth would too early become lazy, and old, and for them, going out for a walk would be as strenuous as doing a big hole in the wall. And unfortunately, the people of this time would store water in places that would invite health troubles, and therefore this would reduce their lives. The better thing would be to store water in a clay pot to get maximum amount of properties needed to maintain a healthy body.

Disclaimer: This is not a printed material from any books of hadith. We have heard it in our family & from the scholarly people belonging to Islam & comparative religions. It's relatively written after finding its facts in the science of food and its relationship to the health of the present time. Furthermore, we're also not against any form of cold drinks or soft drinks nor this blog/article intends to defame any sort of brands. It purely intends to create awareness of the consequences if not used in the right fashion.

The Guiding Tree

Alas! The more I grow, the far I go   Earth is my mother; my father is the Sun       Seasons are my friends who play, trouble and have fun    Dancing feet in the song of winds is yanked to go slow. Daddy sparkling lights; I feel fresh, on the toe, & bright Beholden to the chirping of visitors, who always keep me alive. Cometh a child of Adam, under the shadow of my soul showing no purpose, embracing all that he sees   Says, a guest is he, in need of a resting tree; I offered him the valley of peace The giggling of baby-grasses shall admire & console. Mamma didn't move; Daddy took to low l...
