Alas! The more I grow, the far I go
Earth is my mother; my father is the Sun
Seasons are my friends who play, trouble and have fun
Dancing feet in the song of winds is yanked to go slow.
Dancing feet in the song of winds is yanked to go slow.
Daddy sparkling lights; I feel fresh, on the toe, & bright
Beholden to the chirping of visitors, who always keep me alive.
Cometh a child of Adam, under the shadow of my soul
showing no purpose, embracing all that he sees
Says, a guest is he, in need of a resting tree; I offered him the valley of peace
The giggling of baby-grasses shall admire & console.
Mamma didn't move; Daddy took to low
Mamma didn't move; Daddy took to low
leaned against me as quiet as a trained crow
My friends were welcoming, selfless, & neighborly to his show
My visitors sang for his sadness & woe.
He then stood up, turned around, & looked up & down
As if something has come up after a deep drown.
As if something has come up after a deep drown.
Perhaps said, 'The more I was growing, the far I was going
Distance had in my eyes, not in the crown height
I leaned on my understanding supposed to be right
I leaned on my understanding supposed to be right
I shall be like this tree, which keeps growing, bestowing, & forgoing.'
Therefore, sunder them not. ignore them not
For they are one big family
In the center of whose our lives may become ugly
None can bring back Noah, but we'll be brought overwrought
And victoriously, they shall put an end to the work of applaud.
